Américo Mateus, holds a PhD in Management, Master’s in marketing and Degree in Design, is a Professor at ISMAT Portimão (Portugal), since 2018.  From 2017 to 2020, Vice-director and researcher at HEI-LAB, Lusófona (Lisboa, Portugal); ISHIP Transdisciplinary Research Center Head of research at ISMAT, and former Head of Ideas(r)evolution research Group at UNIDCOOM/IADE (Portugal).  His Researcher member for two European H2020 Projects – URBiNAT grant nº 776783: where is leading the Participatory Design Task, and Co-Create grant nº 806616/EU, where he led the Co-creation task for the Portuguese Partner (UNINOVA, Caparica, Portugal). He has been the Coordinator / Principal Researcher for more than 50 applied research projects (National and International) in the areas of Creativity, Design thinking, Territorial innovation, Education Innovation and Business innovation and modelling and Digital Education Innovative Models. He also is a regular international visiting lecturer and applied research adviser in several countries and institutions, such as: Bilgi University, Turkey; Universidad Europea Madrid, Spain; Karel de Grote and Howest West Flanders, Belgium; TU Delft and Avans University, Netherlands; FH Vorarlberg, Austria; RMIT Melbourne, Australia; University of Europe Berlim, Germany; Walden University, USA; Laureate online Education, UK; Haaga-velia, Finland and UFSC, Brazil. In the last 5 years he published: 9 articles in peer-review Journals (2 of them Q2), 12 articles in International conferences, 8 peer-reviewed scientific reports, 1 book chapter (Springer Nature). His research coordinator for 6 market applied research projects raising more than 400k euros of funding.


Álvaro Lopes Dias is a Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at Universidade Lusófona and ISCTE-IUL, both in Lisbon, Portugal, and a tourism researcher at Universidad de Sevilla. He holds two Ph.D. one in Management and Marketing and another in Tourism, Postdoctoral studies in Management, MSc in Strategy, and MBA in International Business. Professor Dias has over 26 years of teaching experience. He has had several visiting positions in different countries and institutions including Brazil, Angola, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Poland, and Finland. He regularly teaches in English, Portuguese, and Spanish at undergraduate, master and doctorate levels, as well as in executive programs. Professor Dias has produced extensive research in the field of Tourism and Management, including books, book chapters, papers in scientific journals and conference proceedings, case studies, and working papers. Editorial Board member of several journals and has over 60 publications in the major journals and conferences. His work has covered by major publications such as Current Issues in Tourism, J. of Sustainable Tourism, J. of Brand Management or Bus. Process Management J.


Maria João Machado has a PhD in management from the Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (ISCTE-IUL) since 2008 and a Post-doctorate in accounting from the ISCTE-IUL since 2017. She was an Assistant Professor at the NOVA School of Business and Economics until August 2008. From September 2008 to September 2018, she was Assistant Professor at ISCTE Business School, where she was director of the Master’s in accounting, sub-director of the Accounting Department, member of the Scientific Council and member of the Pedagogical Council of ISCTE-IUL. She has oriented three doctoral theses and 29 master’s dissertations, having received two pedagogical awards: ISCTE-IUL 2015 pedagogical innovation award; best teacher of ISCTE-IUL 2010 Master’s in accounting. From 2009 to 2018 she was a researcher in the area of Management Accounting at UNIDE-IUL, having published several scientific articles in international journals and received several research awards, namely: best paper award of the TMS 2013 – Tourism and management studies, International Conference; scientific award ISCTE-IUL – Publication Q2 SCOPUS, 2017 and 2018. She is additionally active in refereeing articles for several management journals. She has served as member of scientific committees in several management and accounting conferences. Maria Isabel Andrés Marques is a PhD in Tourism Sciences by the University of Perpignan, France (2008). Professor and coordinator of the degree in Tourism and Management of Tourism Companies and of the Master in Tourism Management at Universidade Lusófona do Porto, since 2010. Researcher at CEPESE – Center for Population, Economy and Society Studies at the University of Porto and coordinator of the Research Group on Organizations, Tourism and Heritage. Coordinator/ Principal Researcher of the project “Memory Routes of the Portuguese diaspora”. His main studies and publications, including book chapters, papers in scientific journals and conference proceedings, are based on the themes of Heritage, Culture and Tourism; Gastronomy and Tourism; Diaspora Tourism; Destination Branding; Destination Imagery and Sustainable Tourism.


Arthur Araújo is a PhD in tourism studies by the University of Aveiro (Portugal) and currently teaches at Lusófona do Porto University and Lusófona University of Humanities and Technologies. He has published works mainly in film tourism, slum tourists’ motivations, destination imagery, food tourism and sustainability. In the last two years, Arthur has published two papers in SJR Q1 journals (Annals of Tourism Research and British Food Journal) one in a Q2 journal (Journal of Business Cycle Research), and two in a Q3 journals (European Journal of Tourism Research). In the industry, Arthur has experiences in Brazil and Spain, in areas such as tourism accessibility, inbound tourism statistics and educational tourism. He is also a member of the Euro-Asia Tourism Studies Association (EATSA).
